Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) operates through an “upside-down” pyramid structure where ultimate authority rests with the individual groups, not central leadership. It is a fellowship of equals without formal government, using a system of “trusted servants” and a “group conscience” to manage affairs, ensuring no single person holds power.
